Ubisoft expects Assassins Creed 4 expected to sell 10 million units
Ubisoft is expecting Assassins Creed 4 to sell in excess of 10 million copies when it is released in November on current gen platforms and the PS4 and Xbox One. This figure is lower than its predecessor Assassins Creed 3, which sold 12.5 million units in its first 6 months of being on sale.
Despite its lowered sales forecast, Ubisoft fully expects Assassins Creed 4 to be one of the highest performing games of the year. In a statement released by the company they said that “We expect Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag to be a highly-rated game,” said CEO Yves Guillemot during a conference call last night. “Previews have been very positive and the title will again be among the highest performers of the year. We are very confident with the performance of Assassin’s Creed 4 and the numbers we have in our model, it is going to be key for the launch of the new consoles this Christmas.”
Could it be the fact that the game is being released on multiple platforms at the same time, that Ubisoft expects Assassins Creed 4 to sell less?
Ubisoft also announced yesterday that they were bringing forward the release date of Assassins creed 4 to October the 29th in Europe. However the game will still be available on November 22nd for the PS4 and Xbox One.
