Volition has taken the top spot thanks to the release of Saints Row IV, Volition made up 15.4% of the sales total for the month which is what has landed it the top spot in the charts. There is then a large drop in sales to the 2nd and 3rd spot which is made up by Ubisoft Toronto and Nintendo respectively. Ubisoft got 2nd spot with Splinter Cell Blacklist with 6.9% of the sales totals and Nintendo got 3rd place thanks to Animal Crossing: A New Leaf with 6.5% of the months sales across all publishers.
There were some surprise publishers that managed to work their way into the top 10. Ubisoft featured a second studio in the top 10, this time it was Ubisoft Montreal with Far Cry 3. The game has received a lot of praise and impressive sales figures since its release at the end of last year, it is obviously still getting that now as it has claimed the 10th spot on the charts and made up 2.3% of the sales for August.
