The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Coming To PS4 And Xbox One?

Games that were released on the Xbox 360 two or three years ago are games that you are likely to of forgotten already. But it’s hard to ignore the behemoth that Skyrim was back in 2011. Regardless of this, it’s now run its course on the Xbox 360 and PS3 sadly, however going by a listing on Bethesda’s own website, all of that could be about to change.

A recent update on Bethesda’s website has listed Skyrim as being available for Xbox One and PS4. This could possibly mean that Bethesda are getting ready to launch the game onto the next generation of consoles, even though the game itself is now over two years old. It wouldn’t be the first time that a game has been remastered from the Xbox 360 and PS3, Tomb Raider is already doing this now with its Definitive Edition, however unlike Skyrim, it’s a much newer game and was released under a year ago. Not to say that it’s a bad thing, but Skyrim could end up being the oldest game on the Xbox One and PS4 when and if it’s released.

For the moment though we will have to assume that the listing is either a mistake or just a placeholder on Bethesda’s website, only direct verbal or written confirmation will tell us if indeed the game is making its way to the Xbox One and PS4.

To follow up on this listing, Bethesda have also been sending out emails to its customers that state “come visit our very special announcement”, this piece of text is then followed by a date which is the 12th of January. Could this announcement mark Bethesda officially confirming that Skyrim is indeed coming to the Xbox One and PS4? The listing update and emails have come in such close proximity to one another that it does seem very possible Skyrim is indeed on it’s way to the Xbox One and PS4. You can see a copy of the email below, it’s senders address has also been highlighted to show that it is from Bethesda and not a third party.

If you don’t want to get Skyrim for your Xbox One or PS4, you can always pick up the Legendary Edition of the game on Amazon for just $29.99, you receive all released DLC with it as well upon purchase, so not a bad price at all for such a big game.

Would you get Skyrim for your next generation console? Let us know in the comments section below if you would.
