MGS 5 ditches rations for health regeneration
It has been announced that MGS 5 will feature a health regeneration system, it will ditch the long standing tradition of using rations in order to regain lost health, this is a move that is sure to annoy long standing veterans of the series.
Now technically health regeneration has been in the Metal Gear Solid franchise since MGS 3 Snake Eater, when your health got to a frighteningly low level the regeneration used to kick in to help you get back a small portion of your lost health.
With Metal Gear Solid V, it appears that rather than just getting a small portion of your health back, you will be able to slowly regain all of it. This news should be taken with a pinch of salt at this moment in time as Kojima could simply be trolling us with this news in an attempt to get a reaction from the public.
Long standing fans are seriously hoping that this will not be in the final product, as they view having hidden rations in the environment not only adds more depth, but also adds a level of authenticity as well.
This move feels very unlike the Metal Gear Solid we have come to know and love, but it could be that Hideo Kojima is trying to get with the times as this sort of feature is now becoming more and more common place within the video games industry.
