Master Chief Himself Says No Halo 5 This Year
It’s been widely reported by now that Halo 5 is apparently not making an appearance this year. Instead, people have come to believe that the halo game we will be seeing this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2, which makes more sense as the original game is 10 years old this year. However, there has been no official clarification or confirmation as of yet on what is actually happening with Halo this year, until now that is.
Steve Downes, who is the in game voice of the ever illusive Master Chief, has now stated in an interview that we shouldn’t expect to see a sequel to Halo 4 this year. However, he did state that we should see at least one entry in the franchise be released regardless. This is what Downes said, “I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5, I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2.” So, spoken from the man that’s arguably the closest to all of the Halo projects, if he says that Halo 2 is getting a re make this year his word is good enough for us.
A Halo 2 remake would be fully justified to us for two reasons. The first as we already stated is that the game is 10 years old this year, and we feel it would be wrong if there wasn’t some sort of celebration laid out for it. The second is that Halo 2 is one of the games that brought multiplayer to the masses on console, a remake of this game with all of the classic maps and modes re worked is just something we couldn’t say no to.
You can still pre order Halo 5 on Amazon right now, but as stated already there is no set in stone release date for the game. You can pre order it for the Xbox One right here.
There has been no word on a release date for the Halo 2 anniversary game, but people are expecting it to be released around October or November this year.
